As SESP finalizes the transition from Blackboard to Canvas, we are providing personalized Canvas course creation. What does this entail?
You provide your course syllabus and we will build out a course shell that meets the needs of your particular course structure and content, while integrating instructional design principles and student feedback.
Working with the instructor, we will upload and organize course materials/readings and set assignment and grading scheme preferences.
A training session with the instructor (and TA) will give us an opportunity to go over the course layout and provide guidance on how to communicate with your students, view and grade assignment submissions, and maintain course content in the future.
Remember: Once you set up a course, you can transfer the course content and structure from one quarter to another! This means that this initial course-creation process only needs to occur once for each course that you teach.
Setting up your courses in Canvas will help you more easily organize and maintain your course materials, while providing a means to streamline grading and communications with your students. Use our Help Request form to get started - this is not limited to courses being taught during the current quarter, we can set up courses for future use as well.
